This photo was taking in an abandoned house where we found an OLD dark room, still full of equipment. Unfortunately not many of the photos turned out well. It seas just a really awkward space to shoot; and in the short time we had as someone came to the front door forcing us to flee the scene :)

Hey, i saw that you posted on some site that there was some abandoned building with round rooms around the macedon shire and i was wondering if you could give me directions and how well the lighting is. Do you think I could get away with shooting film?

After climbing the rooving of some old factory with a mate looking for anything hidden by people a long time ago and being unsuccesful, i look around and ask “would all that be asbesdos? ” my mate didnt have to answer he was alredy getting out of there. Always look around first not last thing.

So my mate was telling me about a cool abando right next to a very popular one we had been to many times, i found it funny id never noticed this one he was speaking of before, but i went to check it out with him only 3 days later. I was expecting exactly what he described: old style architecture, big over grown gardens, and untouched by vandals because it was boarded up. On arrival the place was old… and boarded up… but VERY vandalised. :( With no way in this was a job for sim the entrance finder. We took the bottom off of an air conditioner, removed the motor and crawled through. Building was pretty trashed, highlights being nice graffiti, a body outline of spray cans, interrogation rooms with the mirrors, and rooftop access. Leaving was the hard part though trying to go feet first back through the aircon sucked i got my arm caught and was hanging by it, luckily my mate got me out. I did have nerve damage from it though and alot of bruising, theres still a mark and when touched my hand twitches shut from nerve damage…

i decided to take my girlfriend down the street to a new construction site and show her the view from the top of the crane. All went as planned, we even had some snacks to munch on when we got up there. But the next morning on my way to work i was suprised to see that on passing the construction site a number of security cameras had been installed… I then started to second guess myself questioning if they were there all along? Or if we were seen? Or if it was all just one big coincidence. I was %100 sure noone saw us and i know we didnt leave any evidence pointing to someone entering the site…

I took my girlfriend out exploring the other night to teach her a bit about being quite and sneaky…

I thought the best place to do this would be a big construction site with alarms and stuff… As I was pointing out things to watch out for like the motion sensor in the corner, and the security camera next to the vending machine this HUGE black creature strolled out of the shadows heading straight towards us. At first we both freaked and took a couple steps back preparing ourselves for a sprint, but once our eyes had focused we realised it was just one MASSIVE cat!

He came straight over and brushed himself around our knees… not our anckles… He was BIG!

His name was Ziggy, or atleast that’s what his coller read… He followed us all around the construction site that night and even after we left… He followed us all the way back to our house where he came in for a late night snack, nearly drank us out of milk all together…

Then he cassually dragged himself out the door and disapeared off into the night.

So one of the first things my girlfriend found out about me before we had even met was that I was an urban explorer, which is a pretty good hook ;) if you talk it up the right way… If not though you can sound like a massive freak who walks around in people’s poo!

Anyway, it was no big suprise that she wanted me to take her exploring and what better to explore in the summer than a drain? So I took her to “Maze” where we walked the main loop and then went to check out the waterfall. Walking towards to the waterfall was the same reaction of everyone’s first time there: “why is that so loud!? do we run?!” but when they arrive at their destination they’re ussually pretty happy :)

So my girlfriend and I lit up a ciggie and had a bit of a rest, air’d our feet and had a chat. I then headed around the corner to have a little look, my torch however was running low on juice and I could have sworn I could see something knee deep in water, as I focused my torch light and squinted my eyes I hear a bloody kurtling scream coming from back where my girlfriend was, hearing this I slipped into the water and the thing I could see in the distance started running towards me!

I began to run back to the ladder where my girlfriend’s screams were coming from shouting and slipping over every few steps; climbing the ladder out of breathe and drenched with storm water to my waist Bec starts laughing…

What had happened was she whistled to see how loud it would be, but the way the sound waves bounced around the corner and off the water made it sound like a scream, and the thing running towards me was a garbage bag stuck on a ladder that appeared to look to be coming closer to me as the light of my torch was jolted back and forth frantically as I slipped from the startelling whistle… So my huge reaction of shouting and screaming and slipping over getting all wet was all over nothing…

And Bec stayed with me…?… Why I’ll never know…
